Today, I had one of those sessions that reminds me exactly why I do this work. The kind that fills your whole being with yes. I was doing Brainspotting with an Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) provider, and honestly, it was all I could do not to bounce up and down with excitement during the session, because honestly I just freaking love this work so much!
This provider had had something had go wrong with a complex SSP client a while ago, and it really shook her. Childhood trauma was reactivated. Old protective parts came flooding in. She felt frozen, afraid, and deeply alone. She had stopped offering SSP for several months.
But then… she received an inquiry. Someone complex, sensitive, and deeply attuned wanted to work with her, specifically. And although she was scared, some part inside of her said yes.
So we have teamed up. We have an agreement. She will hold space for her client, as I hold space for her.
Together, we’re doing Brainspotting to heal the trauma that got activated, while gently weaving in SSP consultation—bite-sized and attuned to what her nervous system can hold as she processes. We’re allowing her inner child to be met and supported, not just by her adult self, but through the safety of our connection. This time, she has choice. She has support. She’s not alone.
We both cried tears of happiness during today's session. What made me teary wasn’t just the healing happening in the moment—it was the deep knowing that in supporting her, we’re also supporting the future clients she’ll walk alongside. As she heals, they will too.
She’s neurodivergent, deeply intuitive, and I can already feel how gifted she will be with SSP - once she’s no longer stuck in her head. In the session, I could see her future self beginning to emerge. Like watching a butterfly come out of a cocoon and spread its wings.
I feel so privileged to do this work. To witness these transformations. To be part of someone’s return to themselves.
